    Dr. Phelan is a global health lawyer researching the international law and governance of infectious diseases. Her work examines the impact of global change events on planetary health, including pandemics, biodiversity, and climate change.

  • Prof. Colin Carlson, PhD (Co-PI)

    Assistant Research Professor
    Center for Global Health Science & Security, Georgetown University

    Dr. Carlson is a global change biologist studying the relationship between climate change, disease emergence, and healthcare. He is an assistant research professor at Georgetown’s Center for Global Health Science and Security, and the director of Verena (viralemergence.org).

  • Kanika Kalra

    Postdoctoral Fellow
    Center for Global Health Science & Security, Georgetown University

    Ms Kalra’s research focuses on multilateralism and international law relevant to preparing for and responding to future epidemics and pandemics. Ms Kalra’s has a keen interest in the intersection of medical innovations, patents, and law.

  • Sanjana Mukherjee

    Postdoctoral Fellow

    Dr. Mukherjee is a Microbiologist with experience in Infectious Disease Epidemiology, Her interests lie in pandemic preparedness, antimicrobial resistance, and equitable access to essential medical countermeasures.

  • Kayla Zamanian

    Research Assistant

    Ms Zamanian is a senior in Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service, and an aspiring global health lawyer and access to medicines advocate. Ms Zamanian is interested in the role that law and governance can serve in enabling access to lifesaving technologies, strengthening the international community’s response to infectious disease outbreaks, and advancing health equity.
